COVID-19: Transparency and updates from the AEF

The health of the community is of utmost importance to the AEF, which is why we’ve been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and taking all necessary precautions. We encourage you to take care of yourself, do your research, and stay informed.

Our board met to explore options on how to still celebrate the 29th Annual Emerald Awards. The board unanimously agreed that we need to achieve our mission of showcasing our province’s environmental achievements while ensuring that we maintain public health and safety. We also believe that we have an opportunity to innovate how we hold our public events.

Once we have the all-clear from the province, we will start planning a networking event, similar to the Emerald Awards after-party, for our community to gather, connect, and celebrate environmental excellence.

Our Sharing Stories Communications Strategy will continue. We plan to record the second seasons of our documentary series and podcast over the summer months. We are also working with our presenters from our recently cancelled Emerald Speakers Series to record their talks from a sound stage.

We anticipate that these changes will benefit our stakeholders by maintaining health and safety and bringing an uplifting experience during these challenging times. We are working over the upcoming weeks to update our event planning and will keep you updated on this page and social media as we proceed.
