With nominations for the 24th Annual Emerald Awards underway, you may have been considering nominating yourself, or someone you know, to recognize an outstanding environmental achievement from the past year. We’ve compiled the following list to get you started with your nomination submission.
Be confident
Submitting a nomination can take courage. You may be second-guessing yourself, or questioning if your case is actually outstanding. We assure you, if you think it’s deserving of recognition, it is. After all, if the case you’re considering nominating inspired you, it’s likely that it will inspire others as well. That deserves celebration.
Give yourself time
The nomination process can take between 2 – 5 hours to complete. This duration may take place in one sitting, or it may be divided over a few days. Our nomination system allows you to save a draft of your submission so you can return to it at a later time.
Gather your support materials
Your nomination is unique and special. Provide support materials that communicate this to our panel of judges. This can include testimonials, videos, interviews…you name it! Be creative and have fun. And remember, every nomination must be accompanied by two reference letters.
Draft your nomination in a Word document
Writing your nomination in a Word document will help strengthen your case before you submit it by allowing you to edit for clarity and concision, and get feedback from others. Once you’ve perfected your nomination, just cut and paste it into our nomination system.
