Reducing the Impact of Restoration Waste

When disasters like floods and fires strike, speed is critical. In the restoration industry, that urgency has traditionally meant large volumes of mixed debris sent straight to landfill, contributing to a growing waste problem.

Complete Care Restoration set out to change that. What began as a pilot project in 2022 has evolved into a company-wide approach that rethinks how materials are handled on every job. Crews now separate materials onsite into distinct streams, from wood and drywall to metals and insulation, with reusable supplies and local recycling partners helping ensure materials are recovered rather than discarded. A digital tracking system ensures every load is documented and accounted for, bringing consistency and accountability to a fast-paced, unpredictable environment.

In 2025 alone, the program diverted over 173,000 kilograms of waste from landfill and reduced emissions equivalent to removing 29 vehicles from the road for a year.
