For over three decades, ECCO Recycling & Energy has been a leader in waste diversion and sustainable fuel innovation, transforming Alberta’s approach to solid waste management. Through advanced recycling technologies and the development of Low Carbon Fuel (LCF), ECCO is significantly reducing landfill waste and greenhouse gas emissions while supporting a circular economy.
Each year, ECCO recycles over 237,000 tonnes of material, diverting 80% of previously landfilled construction and demolition waste into usable resources. Their LCF project, developed in partnership with industry leaders, converts non-recyclable waste into a clean-burning fuel, replacing traditional fossil fuels in cement kilns and reducing carbon emissions by 50%.
Beyond recycling, ECCO actively invests in community-driven environmental initiatives, from supporting Green Calgary’s education programs to backing local organizations like the YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs.
