24th Annual Emerald Awards Nomination Deadline is Friday!

As the deadline for nominations for 24th Annual Emerald Awards approaches, the Alberta Emerald Foundation is excited and inspired by the examples of environmental leadership from around Alberta they have received so far. Although the deadline is only a few days away, it’s not too late to submit your nomination for an environmental program or initiative that you feel deserves recognition.

Remember:

Nominations can be submitted without support materials.

All nominations must be accompanied by two reference letters, and it’s encouraged to include support materials from your project or initiative; however, these materials can take time to collect. The good news is you have until March 20, 2015 to submit these materials to info@emeraldfoundation.ca.

Past nominations can be resubmitted, especially if the program or initiative is ongoing.

Did you nominate a project or initiative in past years that did not receive an Emerald Award? With your project or initiative now well established, it may be exactly what our judges are looking for.

Youth Environmental Engagement Grant recipients can nominate their project or initiative for an Emerald Award.

Did your youth-led or youth-targeted environmental project or initiative receive an Alberta Emerald Foundation Youth Environmental Engagement Grant this past year? The important work you did in your classroom or community is worthy of recognition and has the ability to inspire others around the province.

What seems “everyday” to you is extraordinary to someone else.

Do you or your organization engage in an environmental practice that seems commonplace? It’s likely that your hard work and dedication is inspiring to others, and could be eligible for an Emerald Award.

If you have any questions about your nomination, don’t hesitate to ask!

Submitting a nomination may seem overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact info@emeraldfoundation.ca.

The Alberta Emerald Foundation would like to thank all those who have submitted a 24th Annual Emerald Awards nomination, and looks forward to receiving yours in the next few days. Deadline for nominations is February 20 at midnight.

Submit your nomination today!
