EPCOR’s Glass of the Sask is a multi-year public engagement initiative that raises awareness and fosters pride in the North Saskatchewan River (NSR) as Edmonton’s drinking water source. Through strategic collaborations with restaurants, festivals, and community events, the campaign encourages environmental stewardship, water conservation, and the use of reusable water bottles, all while highlighting EPCOR’s role in delivering safe, high-quality drinking water.

Since its launch in 2022, Glass of the Sask has seen tremendous growth in public engagement. The campaign has:

  • Served 280,000 litres of water through hydration stations
  • Sold 600 branded carafes through pop-up retail shops, raising over $6,000 for the Edmonton Food Bank, and
  • Increased public pride in the NSR as Edmonton’s water source from 74% to 80%, as shown in campaign research.

The campaign’s water refill stations at over 40 events—including K-Days, the Edmonton Pride Festival, Heritage Festival, and the Enoch Pow Wow—have helped normalize bringing reusable bottles to public gatherings, reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable consumption habits.
