The Alberta Emerald Foundation believes that positive reinforcement through recognition of quality environmental work will make a difference in how future generations experience Alberta.
Your investment in the Alberta Emerald Foundation Endowment Fund (the Emerald Endowment) ensures that positive, proactive environmental awareness will continue to thrive into the future through the critical, ongoing work of showcasing environmental excellence.
AEF has established permanent endowments at the Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF) and The Calgary Foundation (TCF), pooling our funds with numerous others to maximize our return on a prudent investment. These funds will help create a stable funding base for AEF and enable long-range planning.
Your gift to the Emerald Endowment will be invested now to build for the future. A percentage of the investment income will be used annually to fund current and new AEF initiatives. The balance of the investment income will be re-invested to protect the fund against inflation.
Your endowment gift may take many forms:
- a gift of any size to the Alberta Emerald Endowment at ECF or TCF
- a gift to create a named or emerging fund as a part of these larger endowment programs
- you may wish to explore an estate gift or other form of deferred gift including life insurance
